This issue highlights the emerging work of the Prince of Wales' Charities in Canada, an umbrella organization roughly analogous to the Prince's Trust in the UK. CMN also provides comment on Justin Trudeau's views on the Monarchy, reviews a major new work on the Canadian Crown (for sale online and via CMN's Sales for Subjects page) and reprints the fascinating and surprisingly readable Opinion of Mr Justice Morgan in the latest challenge to the Oath to The Queen.
Welcome to the Monarchist League of Canada
For over 40 years, the Monarchist League of Canada has been at the forefront of the promotion, education, and nonpartisan defence of the Canadian Crown. This site is the first step to learning about the League’s activities and about Canada’s constitutional monarchy. Whether you want to learn how to write The Queen, request 100th birthday greetings, fact check the media, or simply need to do some research for a school project, we hope to be a useful resource.
This site explores the importance of an institution that is as uniquely Canadian as hockey: the Crown, which has been essential part of our national identity since Confederation. Our goal is to show that our constitutional monarchy actively advances a modern, multicultural, fair, and united Canada of which everybody can be proud.
We invite you to enrol in the League with a free six-month trial membership, after which you will be invited to renew on a paid basis. Membership includes a subscription to Canadian Monarchist News, as well as other benefits. For more information about joining the League, or if you are considering making a donation, please see our membership and online store.
In addition to our website, check out the League on Facebook and Twitter. Our Dominion Chairman writes an insightful blog, and our members are active posters on our message board. We also have a number of local branches and contact groups for monarchists to gather and get to know one another. We hope you enjoy the site, and we welcome you to our community.
